Bailey
Bailey is a small, 7-year-old Terrier cross. We suspect he has some Jack Russell and possibly Staffordshire Bull Terrier in his mix.
Bailey came into our care via inspectors following a challenging situation in his previous home. We believe his difficult background may be a contributing factor to his anxiety; he is generally a friendly boy, but he can be a little nervous and wary when meeting new people, particularly men. However, he is highly food motivated! His love of treats will easily win him over and quickly gain his trust.
Despite his initial shyness, Bailey has some great qualities. He is good on the lead and tends to ignore other dogs, passing them with minimum fuss on walks. He travels well in the car, and his favourite game is chasing tennis balls and a game of fetch.
He is very clean in his kennel, so we are confident that housetraining will be straightforward in his new home. Bailey would benefit greatly from continued, reward-based training, which will be a wonderful opportunity for bonding. He needs a kind, patient owner who can build his confidence through positive reinforcement.
At 7 years old, Bailey is ready to settle into a secure, comfortable life. He must be rehomed as an only dog. He would be best suited to an adult-only home, though older, respectful teenagers could be a possibility.
